drawing on your photographs
I’ve been trying to figure out how to get more time to do some drawing, spending too much time fiddling with my photographs.
So the answer was obvious and came to me in a flash the other evening – draw on my photographs! Here is the first one:

a practitioner of the mundane
I’ve decided to become, at least for a while, a practitioner of the mundane.
I should explain that we are in a splendid bit of country, with easy and quick access to many beautiful beaches, four lovely lakes and a short drive to rolling small-farm country. We have been here 3 years.
In those three years, I [...]

Reality. Or not.
[This is a spin-off from a post entitled WYNDHAM LEWIS - PORTRAITS, RECTANGLES, JUXTAPOSITIONS from the blog of the magnificent Natalie. I need to post a picture which I don't know how to do on Natalie's blogspace.]
Right then. The blog to which I refer above led to a little exploration of “reality”. [...]

up a gum tree
Heaven knows where that expression comes from but I have great enjoyment looking up through the gum trees that are along my morning walk.
I live on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. And what a great spot it is – we are only a few minutes from many great beaches, again only [...]

Coming home the other day, about 40 minutes before sunset, I saw this strange and exciting sky. I scurried to a vantage point and took a few shots.
It made me think the end of the world was nigh but no, that did not happen, here we are still.
It wasn’t until I had posted this [...]

shooting the photographers
While I went down to The Entrance (Central Coast of New South Wales) for a bit of a photoshoot at the weekend (19 July 2008), I found it crowded, seething with people – I had forgotten that was the last weekend of the school holidays.
But I turned this to advantage, as you learn to do [...]

creative for a second
I’m proud to have contributed to an exciting project called Creative For A Second – bringing together the artistic work of some fellow-sufferers of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME/CFIDS/Fibromyalgia).
It is a collection of creative works by people from all over the world (including a few dA menbers!) who live with CFS/ME and has just been published [...]

my little book of pictures
I want to make a little book of photographs. And I am in a lather of indecision. Here’s the background.
When, a few days ago, I loaded pictures from my camera to computer, I noticed that my latest camera, a Christmas present in 2006, has now registered over 5,000 shots. Wow, I thought – [...]

poking around the back-blocks
The chronic fatigue I have had for 11 years limits me in many ways. It is frustrating that I cannot get out to the places I would like to do a bit of photography.
We are not far from Sydney, for example, about 1 hour 45 minutes but that is beyond me for a day trip. [...]
