maxtor and vista – not so good news

I posted a coupla days ago that I had got my Maxtor OneTouch III working with a download from the Seagate site. And that was so – all seemed well, did a back-up nicely.
Uh oh, not so good news today – I have had problems reading certain files from the Maxtor but the back-up program is not working and the Maxtor Manager caannot find the drive or the Maxtor unit.
So, cancel what I said. I could spit chips.
